Sound Sense, the professional association representing community musicians across the UK, launched a brand-new website this week. A partner of the ArtWorks Alliance as well as a standing forum member of the Music Education Council, Sound Sense represents community music practitioners across the music sector, with members working in schools, community settings, prisons, care homes, young people, SENd, music technology and more.
Sound Sense new website offers extended benefits to its members. Their Find a Musician directory now offer members a prominent space in which to share who they are and what they do - a great way to advertise their talents and skills. The directory is available to the public, who can search for practitioners in their local area or specialty of work.
The Sound Sense main office is now based in Cardiff, with a second office in England. Sound Sense continue to work nationally and internationally, with members from England, Scotland Wales and Northern Ireland. Sound Sense welcome both individual and organisational members and offer very competitive membership rates, with Individual- earning membership including Public Liability Insurance. Members are able to advertise their events for free in their monthly newsletters, and they offer advertising space in Sounding Board, the quarterly journal for community musicians, at discounted rates.
Sound Sense also encourage members to sign up to Sound Sense Code of Practice, a mark of professionalism in the sector. To find out more, please visit the website: www.soundsense.org or contact Åsa on email@example.com.
