Since 2010, artist and composer Hanna Tuulikki has been developing a huge, beatufiful body of work that explores the mimesis of birdsong in Gaelic song. Last year she was joined by 10 singers for a unique performance of her composition Away with the Birds on the Isle of Canna. Working with the arts commissioner The Space, Hanna and her collaborative team have created an innovative digital iteration version of Away with the Birds, offering an insight into the relationship between birds and Scottish Gaelic song, as well as a behind-the-scenes experience of Hanna’s practice as an artist and composer.
