Conference on the Future of Folk Music in Higher Education

The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland is delighted to have joined forces with Celtic Connections and Glasgow UNESCO City of Music to host the‘Pedagogies, Practices and the Future of Folk Music in Higher Education Conference’ from 18 - 20 January 2018, bringing together international musicians, practitioners and academics to take stock of the significant educational, professional and artistic developments which will affect the future of traditional music, and its teaching.

All are weclcome toparticipate and be part if this important discussion. The programme contains a diverse mix of keynote speakers, creative conversations with industry leaders, paper sessions and peer learning, as well as the opportunity to engage with fellow delegates at the Conference Ceilidh, and see our students perform at the annual RCS Traditional Music Showcase. 

There are a numbers of ways to participate in the conference, either with the full event, as a day delegate, or simply wish to join the Creative Conversation with industry leaders as part of the Celtic Connections programme.
