Traditional Music

Historically, Scottish music has been a broad kirk, based on local influences, such as language and social setting. The instrument most strongly associated with Scotland is of course the bagpipe, but the traditional music scene is much broader, taking in instruments such as the fiddle, accordion and clàrsach (Scottish harp) each with strong and distinct traditions of their own.
