Scottish Step Dance is the close-to-the-floor form of Scottish dancing (and cousin of Irish hard shoe) which is enjoying a revival in recent years. Classes are beginning this September for both Beginners and those who may have danced it before taught by Fiona Campbell.
The classes will cover steps that are used for solo, social dances and routines. They are part of the programme run by Edinburgh University society New Scotland – though you do not need to be associated with the University to attend them. Ideally you should wear hard-soled shoes or trainers to get maximum enjoyment! Catch a wee look at us having fun with our Strathspey & Reel steps at the Edinburgh University Dance Show earlier this year - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qBVco1Rbso
Each class is pay as you go: £3 member, £5 non-member.
Membership (whole year): £14 student, £28 non-student, £55 patron, or
Membership (semester): £8 student, £16 non-student.
