Storytelling with Essie Stewart

Tuesday 21st February

Free

Event Information

Essie Stewart is one of Scotland's most renowned storytellers. Her repertoire includes Gaelic and Traveller legends, folktales, epics, humorous tales, and anecdotes which have been handed down from her grandfather.

Born into a Sutherland travelling family, Essie is the granddaughter of one of the greatest Gaelic storytellers of them all, Alec 'Ailidh Dall' (Blind Alexander) Stewart, who died in 1968. Essie grew up hearing her grandfather's stories on a regular basis, and continues to share this rich tapestry of stories to a wider audience. Essie tells the stories in both English and Gaelic.

Join Essie for this special evening in the beautiful and historic surrounds of King's College Chapel.
