Martin MacIntyre

Martin MacIntyre's stories include Ossianic wonder tales, stories based on the historical tradition of the Highlands of Scotland, and modern real life stories of a contemporary nature. he also writes and tells his own stories.  Martin is fluent in Gaelic and English.

A medical doctor, writer and actor, Martin MacIntyre has always respected the power of oral narrative to forge stronger connections between people and to achieve artistic and therapeutic results.

Martin is happy to tell stories to younger, older and mixed audiences and with a flexible varied repertoire he can accommodate most tastes.  Also a traditional Gaelic singer, he sees storytelling as an integral component to the holistic ceilidh which should naturally include song, music and poetry, and to which everyone can contribute.

Martin has told stories at the Highland Storytelling Festival, Guid Crack Club, to primary school children, and made his debut in 2000 at the International Storytelling Festival with a bilingual presentation of original Gaelic stories.
