Colin draws on tall tales, fairy stories and world tales to create lively, fun-filled sessions. The emphasis is very much on audience participation, as he encourages joining in with actions, sound effects, and songs which can be made up as the story goes along.
With extensive experience working in primary schools, sessions can be tailored to the needs of children from P1 through to P7. As well as storytelling, Colin works with a P3-7 classes to create their own stories.
Colin began working with children through a Theatre-In-Education company as a performer and administrator. This led to the running and marketing of events for children, and a Diploma in Community Arts at Strathclyde University.
Having sung and told stories to his children at home and then in nursery, he joined the Readiscovery Bookbus in 1998 as Driver/Manager, running on-board story and poetry sessions. Through this he developed his interest in storytelling.
