Claire Druett

Claire is an experienced, versatile and passionate storyteller. She often uses her own poetry as a contemporary introduction to more traditional stories. She tailors her tales to suit any type of group and really loves stories from all over the globe, respecting and celebrating their locality. She is a warm and friendly storyteller, happy to bring her stories to any location.

Claire has experience of working alongside teachers, historians, archaeologists, social and community workers, disengaged groups and young offenders. She particularly enjoys storytelling with teenagers and adults. She is a regular teller on the radio, at festivals, galleries and various public and community events. She has also told for the Scottish Parliament.

Claire is Chair of the Guid Crack Club held in Edinburgh on the last Friday of each month. She is a keen advocate of storytelling and enjoys supporting other tellers. She is also founder of Life Centred Stories. She strongly believes that storytelling does change the world! She understands the use of storytelling as a therapeutic tool which can open up the imagination and help to place people in a more positive state of mind. She feels storytelling is just as important and beneficial for teenagers and adults as it is for younger children.
