RT @TradFestEd: Event Proposals Open for TradFest 2018 (26 Apr - 6 May '18) Strict deadline for return, Mon 4 Dec at 5pm. More details an…
Violinist/band leader Nathaniel Gow and Dancing Master Barclay Dun led a revolution in Scottish Dance. Having introduced the capital to French Quadrilles in 1817, they incorporated these into the annual balls at the Edinburgh Assembly Rooms. In 1818, Dun published a collection of dance instructions in English, to be read in conjunction with Gow's scores (including dance instructions in French).
This all-day workshop will cover Barclay Dun's 2nd Set of six Quadrilles, in preparation for the Barclay Dun Bicentennial Ball on 10th March 2018. Comfortable soft shoes recommended. All levels of dancer welcome - no experience necessary. Led by Talitha MacKenzie & Alena Shmakova (Les Danses Antiques).
