It was not all doom and gloom after Culloden. Find out how Scots found fun on the dance floor in Enlightenment Edinburgh. This workshop will cover the period 1745 to the mid-1800s and explore the origin of dances that are still loved today. Sample the elegant minuet, enjoy rollicking reels, be enraptured by flirtatious quadrilles. Led by Talitha MacKenzie & Alena Shmakova (Les Danses Antiques). Comfortable soft shoes recommended. All dance levels welcome – no experience necessary. Café open for lunch or bring packed lunch.
Please note this workshop was originally advertised with the title Nathaniel Gow's Quadrilles.
