An extremely popular genre of entertainment in Scotland’s Middle Ages, flyting was a poetic exchange of insults between two or more makars. This event concludes the flyting contest organised as an offshoot of the History of Distributed Cognition project (Edinburgh University). Its main attraction will be an exchange of insults between two stand-up poets, where the audience gets to choose their winner.
